I got a call on yesterday from a friend of mine. She's a case worker for DSS or CPS. She said that she couldn't make it to my birthday festivities because she was on-call.

There was a 5 month old baby that was brought in the hospital. The mother, 23, went to work and left her baby with her boyfriend of 4 months, 19. After she got to work for 15 mins, the bf called her and said that the baby was throwing up from his mouth and nose. Anyway, the mother was all hugged up with the bf all weekend. She was very nonchalant about her baby (weighing only 10 lbs) that was on life support. My friend called today and said that the baby died Sunday morning. My friend believes that the bf shook the baby. He kept telling the mother that he would marry her....though he has a rape charge.

Now I just don't understand how people can be so careless about the care of a baby. Here I am hoping to ovulate so that we can have a life of own, and these fools are just going with the wind.
